The Fells Historic Estate and Gardens

Thu 7/23/15 8:30am to 4:00pm

The Fells is one of New England's finest examples of an early 20th century summer estate! It is the former Lake Sunapee home of American writer and diplomat John M. Hay.

We will arrive at the Fells and take a guided tour of the extensive formal and informal gardens. We'll bring a box lunch to enjoy on the veranda overlooking Lake Sunapee.

After lunch we will enjoy a docent-guided tour of the 1891, 22 room house. We'll learn about Hay family history, architecture and building phases of this Colonial Revival summer home and discover what it was like to live on Lake Sunapee in the early 20th century.

Note: Please wear comfortable shoes and a sun hat.

RSVP by July 3rd to 371-0809 or sandrafaber@monadnockathome.org

We will provide lunch choices when you RSVP.

Cost is $25/per person. If you are interesting in going, please send a check for $25 to MaH, PO Box 422, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
